Faster Dreamweaver Loading
Here's another tip to improve Dreamweaver load time. In Preferences select the File Types / Editors screen and add .cfm and .cfc to the Open in Code View list. You'll lose support for design view and the Insert bar, but the load speed will be much faster.

Another Site Redesign Coming - Soon!

» Purpose

Screenshot of StudioCB Version 1.0The first incarnation of this website had existed in its basic format since 1999, and was well overdue for an overhaul. Working in a full time capacity - and on a steady stream of freelance projects, while maintaining my other passions, interests and commitments have kept me quite busy, and a new version of my website just wasn't high on the "priority totem pole".

That being said, my skills as a web designer and web developer have increased greatly lo these many years, and I felt that site version 1.0 had long since ceased representing me accurately from a creative, intellectual and marketing standpoint. To that end, I present to Version 2.0

» Another Site Redesign Coming - Soon!

I have not made any major updates to the site since 2.0 Launch, nor have I had time to populate any of my CyberLibrarian, Links or other database tables with much content since the release. I have extremely busy at work. One project that I have been working on is a site that requires strict Section 508 Compliance and accessibility. It has been a very challenging and enlightening experience, but my results have been very successful and highly praised. It has lead me to make the decision to redesign this site - again!

I am still very busy, and have been under the weather a bit, and still finishing my basement, so I am not sure when this will get done. But the next release will feature:

  • A completely table-free layout using only positioned DIVs for layout (tables will be employed appropriately for data).
  • A completely accessible and 508 compliant site. This means I will likely need to dispense with the groovy DHTML menu, unless of course I use a DOM sniffer to fork the logic, and then include it if someone has a javascript enabled browser but not if they don't. But more likely I will use a more accessible means of navigation.
  • Site will be valid XHTML Transitional

Other goals:

  • Finish fleshing out left and right column content
  • Finish populating categories with data
  • Integration of some sort of blog area

Stay Tuned for further developments
